We need a self motivated individual with marketing expertise, someone who understands the software development business and is prepared to aggressively move forward and introduce an innovative data archiving software solution. ERP and COTS implementation experience would help. The VP will be managing an existing team which consists of Architects, Database Administrators and Developers.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver new systems, processes, and infrastructure
- Envision the future of information resources and their impact on managing data.
- Develop and manage information resources budgets and expenditures.
- Manage the marketing team including Software Engineers, Quality Assurance Engineers, and others assigned to the Software Development team.
- Manage the full cycle of software development including requirements gathering, design, development, implementation and maintenance.
- Provide ongoing leadership, direction, mentoring, and constructive feedback to team members, facilitate their training, and nurture their ongoing professional development.
- This position presents a qualified candidate with an exciting and challenging opportunity to lead the ongoing initiative to advocate, promote and market the ezArchiving software solution.
- Day to day, this position supervises a team of software developers, database architects, testing/QA, and documentation resources. The VP will work closely with the development managers to implement consistent processes, tools, and ensure delivery of software on time, on budget and meeting business requirements.
- This position will have overall responsibility for business development, setting marketing strategies and negotiating with prospective Clients. This position is a delicate balance of setting strategy and vision along with tactics of executing and delivering product.
Requirements:
- 20 years of senior management experience of IT staff, with at least 10 years directing or leading software business development. Municipal Government experience would be an asset.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering / Computer Science or Related Field.
- Effective communicator, collaborator, and problem solver.
- Solid experience in leadership, performance, and successful retention strategies.
- Proven history of effectively interacting and communicating with other team members, assuring commonality with other groups.
- Detailed understanding of commercial software product development methodologies.
- Proven ability to mentor, having successfully developed effective, top-quality, and motivated teams.
- Excellent conflict resolution skills / perfect verbal and written communication skills.
